This week God minister to my girlfriend and I when we brought a homeless guy food. I wanted to share this with you guys because i think what He ministered to us will help you in your daily walk. When we were leaving the gym my girlfriend noticed a homeless guy holding a sign that said” I will work for food”. She politely said” You should go buy him something to eat. I said” sure”. As we were in the line to get food, we could see the guy getting ready to pack up and leave. We began to panic because we really wanted to give him this meal. So I pulled out my money as fast I could and paid for the food. We were able to get the meal to him before he left. That made us feel great inside.
God revealed this message to me through my girlfriend. He said,” Life can be hard, but if you will just wait on me, I will provide for every one of your need”. Sometimes in life we get tired of waiting and become impatient in our daily walk. Not knowing the blessing is just literally staring us in the face. When life gets hard we should stand on our faith the hardest. Faith is the oil that takes the friction out of life. Faith makes things easy to deal with because it’s the only thing that can take the pain out of life.
The next time you feel life slipping away from you or you feel like you are in a dry spot, please remember this story. It only takes one raindrop from heaven to change your situation. The hardship and pain you are feeling now is only leading you into your next level of greatness that God is preparing for you at this moment. All you have to do is worship him in advance and Trust that He is God.
I remember as a child, when I used to get sick, my mom would always shake the bottle of medicine before using it. The medicine on the outside would say, “Shake Well Before Using.” In order to get the full effect of the medicine, you would have to shake the bottle. The same principle applies to life as well. The olive has to go through so many different stages before it can produce its pure oil.
As Christians, we have to be shaken in order to ignite the Holy Spirit within us. The Holy Spirit is the only one that can teach us about our anointing. So God allows us to go through storms and tribulation to bring us closer to Him. Being shaken can create new opportunities for us in life. It teaches us about patience, joy, love, but most of all, how to hang on to our faith through pain.
1 Corinthians 10:13 tells us that, “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” The next time it seems like your life is being shaken, just remember it’s only making you greater for the future.
Last week marked my 9 yr anniversary of my accident. This yr was no different than my first yr. I woke up with tears in my eyes and praising God for what He has done in my life. Thanking him for another opportunity at this thing we call life. My daily reading that morning so happened to be about the story of Lazarus. When I saw that it was Lazarus it brought even more tears because that was me. I remember as a child that I use to play around like I was Lazarus and my brother would raise me up not knowing that years down the road I would experience life situations like Lazarus.
On July 26, 2007, I experienced a near drowning according to the doctors terminology. If you would ask my church members they wouldnt call it a near drowing because they saw the discoloration of my, the eyes had started to set it, and I had no sign of life. At that moment the devil thought he had won but what the devil meant for evil, God uses it for his glory. God took a tragic situation and showed us who was in Control. While the CPR was being performed, my church family and others were praying to break chains that night. This shows you that praising God can change any situation around you. God wants to hear a new sound from you. A new sound of praise will always lead to a new blessing. All you have to do is have faith the grain of a mustard seed. ( Matt 17:20).
While praises to God were being sent up and CPR was being ministered unto me, I was having a conversation with my guardian angel. He said it’s not your time yet and reached out and touched my heart. My eyes immediately popped open. That night I experienced the love of God. God is amazing. What I love about God is that the same miracle He did for me, He will do it for you. I know what the doctor said I experienced but to me I experienced Genesis1:1-3 . It reads, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, void: and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” And God said,”Let there be light and there was light.”
When God’s spirit moved over the pool in the Arlington hotel that night in Hot Springs Arkansas, He saw that light needed to be there. So Jesus spoke, “Let there be light. Now today I write this blog to give you hope. A lot of us have hopes and dreams that seem to be dead but all they really need is some light to make them shine again. The light they need is not the sun but the son. JESUS CAN brighten up any situation. After all He is the light of the world. (John 8:12).
This morning I had the opportunity to stare out at the ocean. I must admit I was blown away from God’s masterpiece. No human has ever been able to go to the bottom of the ocean or tell you what all lives inside of it. That itself is so symbolic to the opportunities we have with God. God wants to take us deeper and show us things we never saw before, but some of us are scared because we can’t see past the Sandy beach. While we are standing on the beach we don’t realize that it’s so many things trying to survive under our feet. You have crabs that you can’t even see, turtles in eggs waiting to be hatched, and hidden shells that appear when rain comes. Just like life, we have so many things that God keeps away from us because it’s not time for us to see them yet.
He keeps them burried into the sand because we haven’t matured enough for our blessing or we are not listening so he brings a shell to reminds us of who He is . While standing on the sand, we also have to deal with the heat from the sun. The sun is beaming on us trying to make us get inside the water but we have that fear of water, so we’d rather stay on the beach and bake like a cake. The same thing happens when God tells us to jump but because we can’t see our next move, we stay complacent. After a while, we get tired of staying complacent and complain that God forgot about us or we don’t know what he’s doing with our life.
Then one day, we look back at that jump we made and say, “Lord we trust you in all aspects of our life; we will jump because we know you’re in control.” After taking a running leap to our next destiny, we find out that He was waiting on us the whole time. God is saying don’t spend your life living in fear, when I have already told you that I will never leave nor forsake you. All you have to do is trust Jesus and He will make your life endless like that ocean. He has so much in store for you. God is able and He’s faithful to do all things.
A rose is one of the most beautiful flowers in the world. Millions of people travel each year to a small town called Tyler Texas to visit their Rose Garden. Despite the attracting appearance the rose present it has thorns. Majority of people have experience the pain that thorns can bring from a long ache or even drawing blood. To us thorns can be bad but for the rose plant it’s actually a good thing. Thorns actually protect the roses from being destroyed by other creatures. If they didn’t have thorns all the other creatures would be crawling on them, smelling them, and most of all tasting them. Without the thorns, the rose wouldn’t last long and wouldn’t get to enjoy its bloom. It would be a quick death for the rose.
Just like the rose, we develop thorns in life as well. God have install thorns in us at birth. He places these thorns in us to protect us from the world and to help remind us of Who He Is. Whenever we get through a storm, a new thorn appears to help us fight against schemes of the devil. We should embrace the thorns instead of asking God to remove it like Paul did. God is giving us a small glance at how Jesus had to suffer for us. He’s reminding us of 2 Timothy 2:12 “if we suffer, we shall also reign with him”. Every rose you see might not have thorns on it because some are not made with them. So if you are having thorns in your life remember that God chose you to have them and he’s protecting his wonderful rose.
One of my favorite songs on the radio right now is, “Worth Fighting For,” by Brian Courtney Wilson. This song has so much power. As humans we have a lot of things we’re fighting for. Whether it’s from our marriages, jobs, finances, or our lives… We’re always fighting. When people are faced with issues, they lose focus about who the fight is really with. It’s not someone else, nor is it a certain place… the fight is with the devil. Ephesians 6:12 tells us “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
The devil is literally trying to steal your joy. He’s attacking your marriage because he’s trying to tear down what God has put together. He’s attacking your finances, because he knows that’s what you are most worried about. Even greater, he’s attacking you, because he knows you’re too afraid to open your mouth.
Your victory over your situation lies beneath your nose – YOUR MOUTH. God has given you dominion and power to speak life over things. So when the devil makes his appearance, you should use the Word of God as your weapon. You must always have on your FULL armour of God, and you have to make sure it’s activated. You activate your armour by studying and meditating on the Word. Along with that, you have to be sure you’re living by God’s Word and not by the standards the world has presented to you.
In his book, “Every Day Is Friday,” Joel Osteen stated, “the enemy always fights you the hardest when he knows God has something great in your future. You are closest to your victory when it’s the darkest. So if your living in darkness right now, I come to remind you that Jesus is the light of the world and He can bring joy to any situation. All you have to do is keep fighting.”
According to Merriam Webster Faith can be described as strong belief or trust in someone or something. That word faith can be tricky or sometimes misleading because we’re putting our faith in the wrong things. We will put our faith in people, jobs , material things but never fully in God. Merriam Webster does a good job of describing words but the real definition of faith is given in the bible. Hebrew 11:1 states – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. When we learn to put our faith in God instead of other people we begin to experience a new relationship with Him and things begin to get better for us. Faith is daring the soul to go beyond what the eyes can not see.
That quote is powerful. We as Christians can have faith but allow doubt to slip in and mess up everything we have ever work for. Doubt can cause you to relapse as a believer but Thank God for his grace and mercy. The only way we can keep doubt out is by praying and meditating on His Word. Peter was one of Jesus disciples and he allowed doubt to almost drown him while he was walking on water with Jesus. Let’s hear Jesus response to Peter in Matt 14:31 (NIV)- And Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ” you of little faith,” why did you doubt ?.
Jesus is asking us that same question when our faith is slipping. He’s asking : why are you doubting when I said I will supply all of your needs. Why are you doubting when I said I will never leave you nor forsake you. Why are you doubting when I said if ye have faith the grain of mustard seed , ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible for you. (Matthew 17:20 KJV )
It’s time to start having faith and speaking to your mountains. It’s time for things that been hindering your life to fall off. All you have to do is have faith the grain of a mustard seed.
What’s so special about a mustard seed is if you plant it, it will eventually become a tree . Matt 13:32 (NKJV) confirms this. Which indeed is the least of all seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that birds of the air come and nest in its branches.
Just imagine if our faith was the size of a tree. We would be able to do a great work in God’s Kingdom. The next time you get low on faith . Go to the nearest walmart in purchase some mustard seeds. Remember that’s all the faith you need to move mountains and there’s nothing to hard for God.
